Carz R' Us Community Support for Harlem, Hononegah, Roscoe, Rockton & Prairie Hill Schools

Carz R' Us School Loyalty Program

In 2013, Carz R’ Us launched its School Loyalty Program to help support various programs at local schools within the following districts: Harlem, Hononegah, Roscoe, Rockton and Prairie Hill. The program is simple: Carz R’ Us will donate 5% of the cost of your service to the school district where you live and extend a 5% discount to you.

The heart behind this program comes from the Aukes brothers’ passion for fine arts, especially music, and the important role these programs play in allowing children to be expressive. The funds from the Carz R’ Us School Loyalty Program have been used to support extracurricular activities such as sports and music, Christmas for Kids, PBIS, individual school needs and much more.

To date, Carz R’ Us has donated over $35,000 to local schools, thanks to your loyalty and support. This program has transitioned Carz R Us into a community leader. We now support Mosaic, Rockford Rescue Mission, Rockford Cosmopolitan Club, and many other local charities.

Other Community Support

We have run ‘Brakes for Breasts’, Breast cancer fundraisers every year since we opened and have raised over $5,000. We have also partnered with local non-profits such as Mosaic, Rock House Kids, and many more.

Harlem Elementary Student Art Show

Each year from 2013-2019, Carz R’ Us hosted its annual student art show, a curated collection of artwork created by grade school students in the Harlem School District. The art was proudly displayed in the Carz R’ Us lobby, and clients, students and their families were encouraged to visit the shop, view the art and vote on their favorite piece. The artwork with the most votes was awarded a special prize. Perhaps the greatest prize, though, is the pride that the students showed when they saw their artwork displayed on the walls at Carz R’ Us. Maybe this great annual event will happen again!

Trunk or Treat & Easter Egg Hunt

Each year, Carz R Us provides opportunity to the community. Each spring, we host a free Easter Egg Hunt right on the Carz R Us grass. Hundreds of eggs are available for kids of all ages to find and enjoy as well as pictures with the Easter Bunny.

We also have a Trunk or Treat each fall. This event is also free to the community, and allows kids and parents to enjoy our spin on a trunk or treat. Have a family photo taken in our beautiful lobby. Then, walk through the Carz R Us shop, picking out candy along the way. Finally, walk around the front of the building for more treats from our decorated vehicles.

Carz R Us is proud to be a continued supporter of small business in the community. We strive to show this support to assist the Machesney Park and surrounding areas continue to see small businesses flourish. One way we do this is by participating in the In Crowd, a local small business networking group. We hosted this event at Carz R Us in May and had over 15 businesses participate. Thank you to all of you that were able to be a part of this special night and we look forward to seeing the continued small business growth.
